Colorful pasta

Dyed pasta is really simple and fun.. You can use them to teach them colors, make necklaces, bracelets with patterns, gluing onto paper for pasta art, shape sorting, etc.

He helped with the whole process. We did a couple different activities with the pasta once it was done drying. His favorites were making the necklace and gluing shapes.

Here is the recipe for DYE pasta.

1 cup of pasta (I used Ronzoni garden delight since it already has orange and dark green)

1/2 cup of Rubbing alcohol

Food coloring

Measuring cup

Ziploc bag

Cookie sheet

Paper towels

You can dye as many bags of pasta you want.. Remember 1 cup for each baggie.

Mix the food coloring with 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol (mix well) and place the liquid into the bag.

My kid had fun mixing the colors!

Place the bags of pasta this way on the cookie sheet. Let sit for about 2 hours.

Use an strainer to drain the alcohol from the bags one by one.. Make sure you clean the strainer before you strain another color. Place the pasta on a cookie sheet and let it dry for another 2 hours. If you want to speed the process up, take them outside.

We wait until the next day to make our necklaces and bracelets.

Necklace done, he also made one for me 🙂

My brother came back home from school early and joined our class.
