The kids loved this since experiment. The chemical reaction creates foam that shoots up out of the bottle after about a minute or so. The kids had fun playing with the warm foam for a while.
Want to make it with your kids!? Here are the materials and instructions.
Materials:
A plastic bottle (works better with a narrow neck)
1 cup of hydrogen peroxide
1/2 cup of Dawn dish detergent
3-4 drops of food coloring (I used blue, you can use any color)
1 teaspoon yeast dissolved in 2 tablespoons of very warm water
Funnel
Something to contain the “toothpaste” (We used a bake glass pan)
Instructions:
Using separate mixing cups mix the hydrogen peroxide and food coloring in one, and In the other mix the yeast with water.
